Hi guys! We're on the stage of creating the Student Council Constitution. We figured it would be difficult to do this online; hence, I believe come Saturday, February 6, we will have another meeting at the Diliman LC to start composing the Charter. We will base it on the existing Charter of Diliman USC given to us by Jacque, its incumbent Vice Chairperson, then we'll apply modifications based on our needs and wants.
After this is the referendum. We don't have a target date yet for this because we know that February is going to be a very busy month for most of us with all the paper deadlines and finals. Academics is our top priority and we cannot expect people to participate and join us during this period.
So for now, Charter first, then let's see when we can schedule our future plans.

Guys, sorry for my earlier comments ha.
Obviously, I removed it na.
Anyways, it's really good that Prof Hidalgo is sitting in with you.
Good luck.
Re UPOU annive, maybe let's await further details in this site.
Let me know if there are indeed interested students who wish to participate.

Naku, Prof V. Your apology is not necessary no. Wala naman problema sa mga post mo kaya di kailangan mag-sorry.

ang mga pangkat at grupo 'tinatatag'=establish

There's already an existing election software that we used during the referendum on the Student Regent Selection Process. It's based on the Halalan Code developed by the UP Linux Users Group, but Jericho Tolentino tweaked it to suit UPOU's needs.

Updated the flier. I corrected it na, prof.

Siyempre kung may libreng tuition, why not coconut, di ba? Ilan lamang to sa mga saloobin ng mga students sa UPOU.

That's cool! Would you mind discussing the details here so that everyone would know? When did UPOU use the software? What was the event?

It was for a referendum regarding the code for the selection process of the student regent. You can find the thread somewhere here. Tinatamad akong maghanap.
It was held January of 2009. Although some colleges in UP Diliman used the Halalan program for their online voting, UPOU was the only one who used it online. You can ask Sir Jerico Tolentino a.k.a. He Devil how he was able to make it online. All I know is that Senator Sj San Juan got the program from an org in UPD.

Hi cyber folks!
Please don’t get me wrong about it; UPOU primarily objective is to provide education opportunities to students who are unable to take advantage of traditional modes of education.
Traditional mode of educations advantages:
1) Time/Scheduling:
2) Remote locations
3) Etc.
So, how can a majority of UPOU students who are aspirant leaders focus or concentrate very much on their political platforms if these are some of the disadvantages?
Well if this is our main concern, do we have an idea of online politics, online rulings or online proceedings?
Is the creation of UPOU student council will be the ultimate remedy to resolve complexities towards the UPOU administrations? Or can we device it another way after enumerating as much a possible those different issues?
1) Tuition Fee
2) Scholarship
3) Resources availability
I think, it is now the time for us to conceive distinctly the difference between an e-distant learning and traditional mode of learning-thus adapting the council as another non political non traditional form of UPOU students’ governance or UPOU online studentry.
Note**
This is just the writer’s sole opinions/views and not intended for negations-my apology if non-sequitur.
Thanks
